Inherited Option Contracts Clarification

If you have a -OPT contract on your roster, examples for this year will be 2025-OPT, this will be an option each HOFBL GM will decide on their roster decisions. 

Initially we were going to go with the MLB decision (meaning if it was a team option and the MLB team accepted it, it would be accepted in HOFBL).  That's not working out with teams releasing players ahead of these options.   The best way to handle this moving forward is to make these options a HOFBL GM option decision.   

If you have a -OPT contract on your roster you will have the choice to accept or decline it at the current AAV value on Fantrax.  It won't matter if it's accepted in real life MLB at a lower or higher amount, the HOFBL GM is making the decision in the option year based on the listed HOFBL AAV value. 

This is only for -OPT contract, not ARB contracts.  PreARb and ARB contracts will be a yearly decision to tender (accept) on non tender (decline) based on the determined amounts each year. 

Also, these option contracts will eventually go away as HOFBL GMs cannot add options in free agency.

I apologize for the confusion on this and hope this clears up any issues and makes roster decisions easier.
